This squadron provides advanced ground combat weapons and tactics instruction that enhance the combat capabilities of U.S. Air Force ground forces essential to sortie generation who are confronted with a potential for combat during hostilities. Thousands of photographs were taken of men and women in ground combat training, including many "action" shots and as a point of note the public are probably unaware that the Air Force personnel have a substantial presence on the ground in the current conflict including convoy support, EOD and other ground based missions. This project was really goes to the heart of illustrating the brave men and women who commit to the Air Force and the reasons why they joined.
Red Flag The Ultimate Game Overview: Nicholas Price is the only civilian photographer ever to have photographed inside this exercise. Nicholas was allowed to photograph the entire "mechanics" of how Red Flag comes together as the ultimate event on the USAF calendar. Photographing the briefings, flight line activities and individual personnel in black and white, the 2005 exercise was particularly important, as it was the first time in 25 years that the Saudi Royal Air Force had participated in the exercise. Even the base photographers and local press refrained from photographing the Saudi Royal Air force in the 2005 exercise. The Major pilot of the Saudi RAF Squadron and the Saudi Royal Prince himself (his father is now King of the Saudi Kingdom) granted special permission to Nicholas Price after building a relationship built on personal friendship and understanding of Nicholas' undertaking.
Predator The Future Airman Overview: This project is so unique to have included The Predator. This new technology has never before been photographed in such detail by either the military or by a civilian. The photography covers: The 11th Reconnaissance Squadron: The UAV Battle lab:
The 20% - Women In The USAF Today, 20% of the Air Force is made up of women. Many of Price's photographs depict the Air Force's dynamic female population from the combat warrior on the ground to the female pilots of the F16's.
These are images that will be meaningful to every American who loves their country and are grateful for the remarkable men and women who serve." General (Retired) John P. Jumper, Chief Of Staff for the U.S. Airforce |
